King Kong, Planet of the apes… Gorillas appeal to most people, especially as a movie or cartoon hero. They’re impressive and ooze so much power. It is even said that the discovery of gorillas in the 19th century was the inspiration for the famous movie “King Kong”. Often gorillas are portrayed as violent, but nothing could be further of the truth. Despite their impressive looks, gorillas are shy and peaceful vegetarians. What makes it extremely sad, is that these gentle giants are threatened with extinction.

Our vision for the future is for gorilla’s to live freely and in harmony in their natural habitat together with humans. The Dutch Gorilla Foundation hopes to accomplish this by providing education in the Netherlands. We also raise funds for a range of different projects in Africa. As an organization we are young but our board is very experienced, has a lot of knowledge and is very motivated! We have an ANBI certification, this means your gift is deductible for taxes.
There are many ways to link your company to the endangered gorillas, but the best way is to find the right link, together. That way you can enhance the corporate image and activities. The appearance of these animals, but also the countries they live in, can be a starting point. But also the type of project can be the right match. Below we make some suggestions on how you can support. And as a company you have the choice: donate once, the full amount, or in parts, or periodical.

Usually this applies for most donations, they are considered as business expenses. For example when they are made to:
Donations without business interest are considered as gifts. A company that pays corporate taxes can deduct gifts for charity. There are some specific rules that apply, which differ from the rules for individuals. Donations to a charity with the ANBI certification are tax deductible in the year in which they’re given. Since 2012 there is no threshold for deductible gifts for companies that pay corporate taxes.
The amount of gift deduction can’t be more than 50% of the profit en should be below
€100.000. It is not allowed that the profit becomes negative after tax deduction. Additionally gifts should be auditable.
